About Sunshine Coast Stadium
Sunshine Coast Stadium is the premier venue for sport, leisure and entertainment on the Sunshine Coast.
In 2011 the Stadium grandstand was built and our community sport had a real home. Fast forward four years and the mounds surrounding the field were built. Now we regularly attract national and international events of all kinds.
Today our venue hosts many events including:
- National Rugby League
- Rugby union
- training camps
- Live music and concerts
- Boutique events
The Stadium is the only regional venue to host multiple NRL Telstra Premiership matches and continues to support and grow our community ties.
Sunshine Coast Stadium has first class facilities and is located centrally on the Sunshine Coast making it an ideal destination for events and elite sports training. We are home to a national standard playing field with:
- 1050 seat grandstand
- 10 fields
- high performance training facility
- Lake Kawana.
The Sunshine Coast offers a unique blend of relaxed coastal lifestyle and lush tropical rainforest. The sub-tropical climate provides a comfortable environment for year-round activity.
Located approximately one hour north of Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast region is easily accessible by car. Alternatively, you can fly into the centrally located Sunshine Coast Airport.
We boast over 100 km of pristine sandy beaches and friendly towns. With a wide range of attractions, accommodation and facilities, the Sunshine Coast is the premier destination for your next event.
Sunshine Coast Stadium Expansion project
With a population of more than 330,000 people, and the second highest forecast population growth rate in Queensland through to 2041, Sunshine Coast Council has an ambition to develop our stadium into one that will have the capacity to stage international and national sporting, recreational and entertainment events.
The region has already demonstrated the ability to attract and host major events, such as the NRL fixtures and the Sir Elton John concerts, and the stadium expansion will allow us to attract more high calibre events and bring significant economic benefit to the region.
