Commemorate Anzac Day with the Diggers' Long Lunch
Sunshine Coast Stadium will host a special Anzac Day experience in the lead up to Wallaroos v Black Ferns for fans to gather, reflect and celebrate in a uniquely Australian setting.

Sunshine Coast Council, Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), RSL Queensland and Rugby Australia, will together deliver a special pre-game patron experience ahead of the Wallaroos v Black Ferns match this Anzac Day.
The 'Diggers' Long Lunch' is a fan-focused Anzac Day activation designed to bring people together in the spirit of community, remembrance and shared reflection, creating a welcoming space for supporters before kickoff.
Located just outside the stadium, the activation will offer fans the opportunity to gather, connect and commemorate ahead of an evening of international women’s rugby.
What to expect:
- Live performances from local musicians throughout the afternoon and evening, including a rendition of The Last Post.
- An Australian‑inspired menu showcasing classic favourites such as traditional Anzac biscuits and lamingtons, alongside alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages.
- A dedicated Kids Zone with family-friendly lawn games.
- A mess hall style setup featuring a rustic long dining table, timber furniture and picket‑fenced surrounds.
- Special guest speeches and interviews.
- Community storytelling elements, with veteran stories shared through table plaques and rosemary sprigs for patrons to wear.
- A purposefully designed space encouraging connection, reflection and shared experience.
